Ballydougan Indoor Bowling Club was formed in the early 1970s. At that time there was no other indoor bowling club in the rural area of Bleary. The Club meet in the Bleary Farmers’ Hall, Upper Ballydougan Road on Wednesday nights at 8.00 pm from September until April. Ballydougan Club is in the West Down Zone. The Club compete in the West Down League and also play friendly matches with neighbouring Clubs. The Club also play Cup matches and these are The Down Shoes Cup, The Ballydougan Cup and The President’s Cup. The late Wesley Johnston was president of Ballydougan for many years and during this time presented a competition cup to be known as The President’s Cup. New members are always welcome. |
