The Farmers’ Hall comes into being

It was in 1960's that the Farmers' hall was finally opened. After much dedicated and labour intensive work, the members had at their disposal a moderate building on the edge of the rural settlement of Bleary.

Although the club dwindled in numbers from around 1996, it was decided to extend the Farmers’ Hall with two new rear meeting rooms, with a refurbished main hall and stage, cloak-rooms and to provide a concrete finished car-park all under the control of the Farmers’ Hall Management Committee.

In September 2004, with there being a need for rural youth, a renewed effort was made to reform the club.

  • The club is actively involved a wide host of events and compiles a club calendar twice per a year.
  • Club meetings take place on the first and third Friday of each month at 8pm.
  • There is currently over 35 active involved members.
  • It would be difficult to say exactly how many members have come and gone in the 79 odd years.
  • Those who have benefited most have often been those who gave most to it.
  • It is in this spirit that Bleary YFC look forward to the future.
