Countdown to Annual Lurgan Show begins! The line-up of attractions and events for Lurgan Show was unveiled recently at the launch of the 2008 event.The show event running from 10am to 5pm takes place on Saturday 7th June in Lurgan Public Park.This year’s event will offer the usual extravaganza of colour, competition and showmanship, all combining the best of local livestock, crafts and machinery.Along with the many displays of the firm favourites such as horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs and goats, this year, the show organisers have again added that bit extra.A military display will take place on the central arena all day, while there will also be a static display of vintage vehicles. In addition, a sculpture of the famous Lurgan Dog, Master McGrath will be carved from local timber.Equestrian lovers will have the opportunity to view the many equestrian events- Horses and ponies, donkeys and carriage driving, all due to take place up on the hill.Don’t forget to visit the Home Industries section located in King’s Park Primary School. Both adults and children can compete in this section of the show with a wide range of categories.And to keep events moving in mid afternoon, Bleary Young Farmers Club with host a range of activities along with other Co.
