Bleary YFC ‘Build It’ To Success!

Bleary Young Farmers’ Club members competed in the ‘Build It Challenge’ on Wednesday 11th June. The competition supported by Tesco took place in Banbridge. The aim of the fun filled evening involved teams competing to construct a garden bench. Some nine teams took part in the action with Bleary YFC taking a well deserved fourth place in the combined Co Armagh/ Down challenge. Bleary will therefore now go forward to the finals in July to represent Co Armagh.

This was the first time that Bleary YFC had entered this competition.

Results have just been announced of competitions held by the above club at Lurgan Show.

The competition- ‘Guess the name of a goat’ proved to be a rather challenging guessing game and to keep everyone out of suspense, the actual name was Matilda. In the end, no-one actually guessed correctly.

Another competition, ‘The Lucky Stick’ also proved to be a bit of fun and the winner has been announced as Sharon Bland, Lurgan.

The overall winner of the ‘Build A Scarecrow Competition’ was the Valtra mechanic entered by Kate Troughton while second place went to the ‘Galway Girl’ from Crumlin YFC. Third place was awarded to ‘Cindy Lou, Eddie the Eagles Second Cousin’ entered by 1st Lurgan Guides.

Owing to an erratum in results last week, first place in the male Tractor Handling  competition held at Lurgan Show, the winner was Nigel Lawson (Bleary YFC).

On Monday 23rd June, club members will compete in the Beef Cattle and Sheep Judging competition which is to be held in Hillsborough.
